Google has clearly shown through their recent event on Wednesday (4 October 2017), that future belongs to artificial intelligence. Google expects that AI-based virtual assistant is going to be found everywhere whether it’s a phone or a laptop or smart earbuds. In the event held on Wednesday, Google announced several new products, many of which are integrated with Google Assistant to provide faster and smoother experience than the contemporary devices.
Let’s have a look at the products which were just announced by Google.
Google Pixel 2
The company’s voice aide, Google Assistant, is one of the unique features which made the original Pixel stand out. But now the Google Assistant is available on a huge number of phones, so Google is adding some more power in it for Pixel 2. For example, users can notify the Assistant by squeezing the sides of the phone instead of using a button or by voice.
The 5-inch Pixel 2 starts at $649, while the bigger version of Pixel 2 XLwith 6-inch will cost you $849 or more.
Google also announced a brand new laptop named as Pixelbook. It is a Chromebook with a 12.3-inch screen which is similar to Microsoft Surface Pro, which makes it flexible to be used both as a laptop and a tablet. The Pixelbook runs on Google’s Chrome OS which is designed while keeping the online usage in mind. It’s the first laptop which is having the Google Assistant, which can be communicated by speaking, typing, or using the Google’s new $99 stylus. Google is calling that stylus as Pixelbook Pen, you can mark up on the content displayed on the screen and find details about it through the Google Assistant. The price of Google Pixelbook will be $999.

As Apple and Amazon were soon going to launch new high-end speakers, Google also jumped the bandwagon with the announcement of Google Home Max, keeping the price at $399. Google Home Max is intelligently unique in its own way because it can adjust it audio settings depending on the surroundings. Google is calling that new feature Smart Sound, by the virtue of which the Google Home Max acoustically “tune” itself based on its location in a given area. As you displace the Max a few feet from its prevailing location, the speaker will get self-optimized for its new location.
Google Home Max will offer deeper bass powered by dual 4.5-inch woofers, which is 20 times more powerful than the original Google Home. The Home Max will give fine competition to Apple’s HomePod and Amazon’s new Echo. Both of these were designed while keeping superior audio quality in mind. It’s similar to the HomePod speaker of Apple which can also dynamically alter audio to according to its surroundings.
Google Home Mini
Google also announced a smaller Home model known as the Mini. As its name signifies, it’s a miniature version of Google’s smart speaker priced at $49, which is similar to Echo Dot of Amazon. The Home Mini resembles like a tiny pod with fabric covered across the top. There are four LED lights below this material that indicate the device is listening. It’s available in three color variants: chalk, charcoal, and coral.
Google Pixel Buds
Google’s new audio earbuds can also become your personal language translator. With the price of $159, the Google Pixel Buds can be also be used to notify the Google Assistant by a tap. But the ability to translate language dynamically in real time basis while being connected with your phone makes it look a pretty innovative product.
You just have to use the phrase like “Help me speak Italian,” and your phone would render whatever you next said into Italian to your contact. When your friend replies in Italian, you will hear the English translation due to Google’s Pixel Buds.
The Pixel Buds can function with 40 languages and will be available by November in US market.
Google’s Clips is a smart camera which is designed to snap photos for you. The small $249 priced camera can be laid on a surface or clipped onto clothing or furniture. This device uses artificial intelligence to automatically identify when a photo should be taken. According to Google, the Clip camera will recognize your friends and family members after a period of time, which will be helpful in capturing splendid moments. Google also clarified that all these AI processes are to be handled by the device itself and the data will not get sent to the cloud.
